1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Schemity ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Software.
2. Description of the Software
Schemity is a desktop application for database ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram) design, visualization and migration generation. The Software works offline, stores your work on your local machine, and supports MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server and SQLite databases.
3. Privacy and Data Handling
Your diagram files, database data and database credentials stay on your machine. The Software sends license and update checks, which always run, and anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, which you can turn off in the Software's Settings. What each of these contains, and who processes it, is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
4. Purchases and License Verification
Purchases are processed by LemonSqueezy, which acts as the merchant of record. By purchasing, you also agree to LemonSqueezy's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
The Software verifies your license with our license server using your license key and a device ID generated from your machine. No database schema data, project files or other user content is ever shared with LemonSqueezy.
5. License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Schemity grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Software for personal or commercial purposes in accordance with the license type you have acquired.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the Software.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software.
- Rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense the Software.
- Use the Software in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCHEMITY AND ITS DEVELOPERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.
8. Database Connections
Schemity may connect directly to your databases (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, SQLite) as configured by you. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your database credentials and connections are properly secured. Schemity does not store your database credentials on any remote server: all connection details remain on your local machine.
9. Updates
We may release updates, patches, or new versions of the Software from time to time. While we strive to maintain backward compatibility, we cannot guarantee that updates will not affect your existing configurations or workflows.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Software after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
